Free US Grand Prix preview party at Indianapolis | Quote: | On July 2, Formula One racing will descend on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) for the United States Grand Prix. However, fans keen to get an earlier taste of the action can do so this coming Sunday, thanks to a special ‘preview party’ being held at the famous circuit.
The free event, presented by Formula One tyre suppliers Bridgestone, will feature a variety of attractions including a live broadcast of the Canadian Grand Prix on the Speedway’s large video screens and a chance for members of the public to drive a lap of the legendary IMS oval in their own cars.
The party will also boast Formula One simulators, race car displays, free face painting, live music and the chance for fans to have their picture taken with the US Grand Prix grid girls. The majority of attractions will be located in the Speedway’s Pagoda Plaza, located behind the Bombardier Pagoda.
The public drive-around takes place between 1100 and 1300 hours local time, with the Canadian Grand Prix screening starting at 1300. In addition to the party, the IMS Hall of Fame Museum will be open as usual between 0900 and 1700. |
Sounds good and F1 needs to really pull together here as last year the Americans was'nt pleased with six cars racing after all the Mitchelin teams pulled into the pits at the end of the instalation lap. Ralf will be hoping he can put the last two years behind him and finish tyis years race because both last year and the year before he crashed out at the fastest part of the track due to tyre problems.
