With 8 races remaining, has Alonso done enough to secure his second WDC?

With 80 points up for grabs, Alonso (if my maths is right) can do no better than P3 in the remaining races if he is to lose the WDC.

In other words, can Massa and Kimi keep Alonso pegged at P3 for the remaining races - assuming Schumacher wins the remaining races.

its just like with kimi last year... michael could win all the races left, but all alonso has to do is stay with the leaders. it would be impossible to keep him behind kimi and massa for every race left, i would safely say its his.

I second that.... Even if Massa tries to keep him behind, there is the 'pit stop strategy'

The only way i see it happening now is that the Mclarens become faster then the renaults but not the ferrari's

I still think its possible for Ferrari to do it but this will mean Massa holding Alonso up so much that he backs him up into the rest of the field in the hope that the McLarens can over take him and lets not forget them Toyota's are looking much faster so they could be there challenging Alonso as well.

This is were Fisi comes in, he needs to be in the top 5 every race now so that he can be Alonso's rear gunner and to make sure they have a good chance to win the Constructors title which i think will become Ferrari's this season. Very Happy

If Ferrari get 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd in the race tomorrow i think Renault will only be contenders for the one title but i won't rule them out on till this happens cuz they are still a good team and Alonso is the only reason there were they are today.
