Alonso Appreciation ThreadThis guy is the MAN right now. Pity he is leaving to McClaren next season but what can you do. Montoya will be his replacement so it's virtually a straight swap. Not sure if it's 100% confirmed but he is a legend and will drive well wherever he is!

Yes Alonso is a very good driver and we can probable expect him to dominate for years to come.

Actually I dont see him dominate for years to come. I see him being surpassed next year but still be up there for a while.

No chance will it be Webber. Im thinking along the lines of Montoya (he'll have a better car at Renault) or Schumacher will come good...OR...Button

hahaha, Alonso won't dominate, not with the way McLarens are going. Webber i think will win a championship or two once williams sorts themselves out, or webber signs somwhere else. Its going to be an interesting few years, many hopefuls.

Alonso will definately be in the thick of the winners action so YES he will be dominating. Dominating does not mean that he will have to win every time but his consistency is second to none. Webber will not win anything because Williams wont sort themselves out for ages. Also, he cannot drive as well as the likes of Button, Schumacher X2, Alonso, Montoya, etc...
As for McClaren, they have a good chance at winning next year if Alonso goes there. That will be a great team they have then. They have the inferior car when comparing them to Renault but next season will promise to be a great one with the changes in play. As for this season, Renault and Alonso have it

Button is overated, ralph is overated (only lukcy to have a long contract at toyota as i doubt any other team would sign him), montoya is too unprdictable (rember that "tennis accident", i'm sure i wouldnt blame the TC for getting stuck on a curb) and agree as much as i hate it i dont see williams winning anything for a couple of years unless they get manafactuer suport, webber will win eventually and hopefully at renault despite his remarks to stay at williams

McClaren are in the midst of a big changing period. They have a new driver for next year, they have lost there star desidgner in adrian, who has taken a bunch of cronies with him. also mclaren is looking into buying out the rest of the stake in mclaren (cos merc already owns some of it), the MP4-21 is off the pace and i don't expect that the next couple of seasonw ill be any different till they reallign themselves to where they want to be.

Webber to Renault ay? Wont believe that until I see it. Button isnt overrated, he is a top driver.

button has potential, except haven't seen how much because if the inconsistant car, however there was that spurt of podiums back in 04 i think it was... still waiting for that first victory....
and whatever happened to williams? did the change of ownership really screw them up? they were doing well back in 03 or 04 (i can't remember now) in the later part of the season, then suddenly they just slipped away?

and dont count out webber to renault, don't forget flavio manages webber so he has an easy in already.
